Douglas County barn fire battled by fire crews
This is the second barn fire in a week in Douglas County
Fire crews with the South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a barn fire in Douglas County late Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Flames broke out late Monday night at a barn located on Patty Lane, near Jordan and Hess Road in Parker.
Fire crews were able to extinguish the barn on fire that threatened an adjacent home and prevented it from spreading to the adjacent grass.
Similar to the barn fire Nov. 27 that killed almost a dozen horses, no fire hydrants were on this road and tenders had to truck in water 3,000 gallons at time, according to SMFR.
The barn was used mainly to store personal items.
South Metro Fire Rescue said no injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
