Man killed in suspected hit-and-run in Aurora

A man died in a fatal crash that officials believe to have been a hit-and-run in Aurora early Monday morning.

Aurora police responded to a report of a man down near the intersection of Yosemite Street and East Colfax Avenue around 1:20 a.m. Christmas Day according to an Aurora Police Department news release. 

Responding officers found a man, who has not been identified, with life-threatening injuries and transported him to the hospital, where he later died.

The Adams County Coroner’s Office will release his identity when next of kin are notified and pending an autopsy.

Investigators believe the man was involved in a hit-and-run crash with a dark-colored pickup truck. 

The truck’s driver and the vehicle have not been identified or located, according to the release.

This is Aurora’s 65th traffic-related death this year.
