‘Good Samaritans’ apprehend robber with knife in east Colorado Springs store

Police have the public to thank for apprehending a robber at My BargainMart near the 2800 block of East Fountain Boulevard on Tuesday night.

The Colorado Springs Police Department says that around 5 p.m., shoppers and the store cashier confronted a man who attempted to take the cash register. The robber allegedly threatened the Good Samaritans with a knife, stabbing one.

CSPD confirmed that the stab injuries were not serious.

The Good Samaritans detained the robber until police arrived, CSPD said. The suspect has been identified as Latterrious Tanks, who was arrested for several outstanding warrants and on suspicion of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
