Medical innovators from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center’s Anschutz Acceleration Initiative received $50 million worth of grant awards from The Anschutz Foundation toward medical research projects.

The acceleration initiative recognizes those at the forefront of advancement of healthcare innovations poised to directly impact patients within the next three to five years.

“The Anschutz Foundation has championed the people and programs that drive innovation here,” said CU Anschutz Chancellor Donald M. Elliman in a statement. “As a result, we have become recognized locally, nationally and internationally as leaders in healthcare innovation.”

The money will help projects in certain fields of expertise, including oncology, dermatology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, pharmacology, dental medicine and more.
