Buc-ee’s poised to hire 250 at Colorado jobs fair

Y’all ready for some Beaver Nuggets?

Popular Texas-based travel center chain Buc-ee’s officials plan to hire 250 employees to operate one of the largest stores in the company’s portfolio.

The 74,000-square-foot store, with 116 fueling stations, is slated for a spring opening. Construction workers broke ground on the site southwest of Interstate 25 and Larimer County Road 48 in June 2022.

“We are proud to partner with Johnstown for our first travel center in Colorado,” said Josh Smith, spokesperson of Buc-ee’s in a news release. “We look forward to hitting the ground running and hiring team members that will afford an unforgettable experience for travelers at the foothills of the beautiful Northern Front Range.”

Beaver Nuggets, by the way, are the popular flavored popcorns sold at the 47 Buc-ee’s stores in Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri and South Carolina.

Job applicants must submit applications before the event at buc-ees.com/careers. It starts at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Loveland Hotel Conference Center, 4705 Clydesdale Parkway, Loveland, and runs through 4 p.m. Saturday.

Positions include deli/foodservice, janitorial/cleaning-maintenance, stocker/grocery and gift/merchandise. Pay ranges from $18-$21, with 100% match 401(K) plan (up to 6%) and three weeks paid vacation.

“Online applications will be reviewed, and phone screens will be conducted,” according to the news release. “Candidates who advance to the next level will be extended an invitation to interview. Due to the large volume and need for pre-scheduled interview times, walk-ins are not encouraged and may be turned away.”

Officials tout the chain’s “award-winning” clean restrooms, “cheap gas, quality products and excellent service.”
