Work this weekend at Union Station to affect RTD commuter rail service

The Regional Transportation District will interrupt light rail service to-and-from Union Station for 48 hours beginning Saturday morning through the end of the service day on Sunday.

The A, B, G and N lines will be undergoing federally mandated maintenance during the interruption, according to a news release.

RTD will be providing shuttle bus service between the affected stations during maintenance. Regular service will resume Monday.

A release from RTD specifies the affected rail sections and instructions for finding a shuttle bus:

A Line: RTD will provide bus shuttle service for A Line customers between Union Station and 38th•Blake Station.

  • A Line customers at Union Station can access the shuttle at Gate 5 in the underground bus concourse.
  • A Line customers at 38th•Blake Station can access the shuttle in front of the station.
  • A Line service will operate as normal between 38th•Blake Station and Denver Airport Station.

B and G Lines: RTD will provide bus shuttle service for B and G Line customers between Union Station and 41st•Fox Station.

  • B and G Line customers at Union Station can access the shuttle at Gate 5 in the underground bus concourse.
  • B and G Line customers at 41st•Fox Station can access the shuttle at Gate A.
  • B Line service will operate as normal between 41st•Fox Station and Westminster Station.
  • G Line service will operate as normal between 41st•Fox Station and Wheat Ridge•Ward Station.

N Line: RTD will provide bus shuttle service for N Line customers between Union Station and 48th & Brighton•National Western Center Station.

  • N Line customers at Union Station can access the shuttle at Gate 5 in the underground bus concourse.
  • A shuttle stop for 48th & Brighton•National Western Center Station is located on the track side of Brighton Boulevard, across from the post office.
  • N Line service will operate as normal between 48th & Brighton•National Western Center Station and Eastlake 124th•Station.

Customers should anticipate delays due to the rail closures and are encouraged to explore alternate routes on the RTD website if their trips are affected.
