Plus: On this date in Denver weather history
A return to seasonable temperatures and weather for the first Monday of February is forecast after heavy snow blanketed the western metro area over the weekend.
Denver residents can expect sunny skies Monday with a high near 48, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. A south wind will blow around 5 mph, becoming light and variable in the afternoon.
Areas of dense fog can be expected from around Greeley and Loveland south toward Longmont and possibly down into the far northern suburbs of Denver this morning. Visibilities will be reduced to just a few hundred feet in spots. Patchy fog can also be expected in the high mountain valleys.
If driving in those areas, slow down, use low beam headlights, and allow plenty of distance between vehicles. Neighborhood streets and sidewalks may also have patchy black ice, so use caution if venturing out early this morning.
Around Denver tonight it is forecast to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 32 and a south southwest wind to blow between 3 to 6 mph.
