Denver weather: Warm Valentine’s Day weather, snow possible week’s end

Denver is forecast for sunny conditions and warm temps Valentine’s Day Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Expect sunny skies and a high of 53 degrees. Winds from the west will range between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts reaching upwards of 16 mph.

Scattered light snow showers will develop over and west of the Front Range mountains today. The showers will be most persistent in the mountains north of Berthoud Pass, where an inch or two of accumulation is possible. The showers will diminish this evening. Wind gusts up to 50 mph are also expected over the higher mountains and the higher east slopes of the Front Range.

Looking ahead to Wednesday night, expect partly cloudy skies and a low of 24 degrees.

Temps will remain moderate Thursday before dropping down to the 30s Friday, with chances of snow heading into the weekend.

Thursday: Expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 51 degrees.

Friday: There’s a 20% chance of snow, mainly after 11 a.m. Expect partly sunny conditions and a high of 39 degrees.

Saturday: Expect sunny conditions and a high of 47 degrees.

Sunday: Expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 55 degrees.
