Denver weather: Red flag warning issued Monday, warm too

Denver residents can expect sunny skies Monday, with a high near 67, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Windy, with a west wind 14 to 19 mph increasing to 21 to 26 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
The NWS has issued a red flag warning from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, for several counties surrounding Denver, including Denver proper. Wind gusts to 45 mph are possible with low relative humidity levels (as low at 13%).
Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire.
The plains and urban corridor will see critical fire weather conditions return, under very windy and dry conditions. West winds will gust 40-50 mph for most areas from mid morning through the afternoon.
In the mountains, snow showers will increase throughout the day. Accumulations will be mostly light before snow picks up tonight, but combined with breezy conditions at pass level, will likely lead to slick travel at times along with blowing snow.
Monday night is forecast to be partly cloudy, with a low around 37 and breezy, with a south southwest wind between 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Tuesday: Rain likely before 8 a.m., then rain and snow likely between 8 and 10 a.m., then snow after 10 a.m. Temperature falling to around 25 by 5 p.m. Windy, with a southwest wind 14 to 19 mph becoming north 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64.
