4 juveniles, 2 adults injured in Commerce City crash

A crash Tuesday morning left six Commerce City drivers injured, with one in critical condition.
Police responded to a “serious injury” crash on East 88th Avenue near Dahlia Street around 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to a social media post by the Commerce City Police Department. Upon arrival, responders found four juveniles injured from one vehicle and two adults from the other. All six were taken to nearby hospitals and the driver is in critical condition, according to the post.
A red vehicle traveling westbound on East 88th allegedly veered into oncoming traffic, striking a minivan with two passengers head-on and crashing into a nearby creek. The vehicle was likely traveling at a high rate of speed and struck a guard rail before moving into oncoming traffic, according to the department.
Four juveniles in the red vehicle were thrown from the vehicle. The driver was a 14-year-old boy, the police department said. The front passenger was 12 years old. The two in the back were 16.
The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.
