Denver weather: Mild Monday ahead of mid-week snow
Plus: On this date in Denver weather history
The beginning of the work week is slated to be warm and mostly sunny ahead of a mid-week snow storm before the first day of spring starts March 19.
Denver residents can expect partly sunny skies Monday, with a high near 66, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. South wind 6 to 8 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon.
Breezy conditions of 25-35 mph wind gusts are possible for the mountains and foothills this afternoon. Light snow showers are possible overnight tonight into Tuesday morning mainly for the Park and Gore Ranges.
A strong winter storm is expected to impact the region Wednesday through Friday. This storm could bring significant snowfall to portions of Colorado, but confidence remains low regarding the exact track of this system. Still, accumulating snow looks likely across the forecast area, with the best chance of moderate to heavy snow falling across the Front Range mountains, foothills, and Palmer Divide.
It will be partly cloudy tonight, with a low around 36 and a north northeast wind between 5 to 8 mph, becoming south southwest in the evening.
Here’s the full forecast from the National Weather Service.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. South southwest wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
Thursday: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 38. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Friday: A chance of snow, mainly before 7 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 44.
