34 hours of snow expected in Denver, up to two inches per hour
As forecasting for a major storm set to roll into Colorado continues to develop, a report from the Weather Channel provides some information on timing that pertains to Denver.
Per their hour-by-hour outlook, 34 straight hours of snow are expected in the Mile High City, starting with a transition from rain at about 11 p.m. on Wednesday and stretching until 8 a.m. on Friday morning. From Thursday morning until Thursday night at about 9 p.m., the chance for precipitation is above 90 percent.
According to the National Weather Service, snow could fall at a rate of about one to two inches per hour during this period and up to three inches per hour in the higher elevation foothill communities found to the west of the city.
Be warned that travel along the entire I-25 corridor could get dicey on Thursday. Avoid travel if possible.
