1 dead in northeast Denver motorcycle, semi-truck crash

Commerce City police officers responded to a fatal motorcycle crash scene at the border of northeast Denver on Sunday morning.

The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the 5100 block of North Quebec Street just north of I-270.

It involved a semi-truck and a motorcyclist, according to the Denver Police Department, which said the motorcyclist died.

The motorcycle was traveling at an unknown speed and crashed into the back of a semi-truck, a DPD spokesperson said.

Commerce City police responded to the crash as they were the closest, police said.

The motorcyclist, surrounded by first responders, was seen lying on the ground unresponsive.

Bits and pieces of the motorcycle were scattered across Quebec Street across from the TA Travel Center.

Denver police expect delays in the area.
