Multiple fire agencies contain grassland fire near Falcon, 40 acres burned.

Fire crews from multiple agencies are responding to a grassland fire near Falcon, northeast of Colorado Springs Saturday afternoon, according to a social media announcement.

Just before 12:30 p.m., the Cimarron Hills Fire Department announced its response to the fire near the intersection of Woodmen and Mohawk Road, the social media announcement states.

At 12:40 p.m., the Colorado Springs Fire Department announced its involvement, per request of the Pikes Peak Mutual Aid Team, adding fire crews from Brush 4, Brush 21, Wildland 4 and the department’s Special Operations 52 unit were on the scene.

At 12:45 p.m., CSFD said an additional five department units including Wildland 9, Brush 15, Brush 20, Battalion Chief 4 and Engine 20 would also be responding per request for mutual aid.

Officials said Saturday afternoon the fire has since been contained, and has burned approximately 40 acres.
