In her debut at K Contemporary, Anne von Freyburg, a UK-based artist, celebrates textiles and ornamental pleasures in a painterly way. Trey Egan’s 10th solo show entitled “Layer It/Divide It” showcases a variety of techniques with paint, layers and textures. Admission to the gallery is free. Hours are 12-6 p.m. on Tues-Fri and 12-5 p.m. on Saturdays.

THURSDAY-SATURDAY

Solo act Slow Joy is the solo project of Dallas-based Chicano artist Esteban Flores. Mixing elements of grunge, emo, and shoegaze, Slow Joy’s deeply personal and melancholic lyrics are underscored by gritty, powerful guitars. Slow Joy will be touring Colorado this weekend with a Thursday show in Colorado Springs at Vulture (7 p.m.). On Friday, he’ll be playing the Black Buzzard at Oskar Blues in Denver (8 p.m.). He’ll close out the weekend with two 8 p.m. shows at the Moxi Theatre in Greeley. General admission for each of these shows starts at $20.
