Denver weather: Rain/snow mix Monday, colder to start April

Denver residents can expect a chance of rain showers before 7 a.m., Monday, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 7 and 10 a.m., then rain showers likely after 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Some thunder is also possible. It will be cloudy with a high near 47 and breezy, with a north northeast wind 5 to 15 mph; gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60% with little or no snow accumulation expected.

Rain and snow showers will increase in coverage and intensity through the day and into this evening. Several inches of snow will be possible across the Front Range mountains and foothills, with the heaviest snow falling late this afternoon into the evening. Some travel impacts are possible, with slushy or snow covered roads at times. Be prepared for quickly changing conditions.

Tonight, expect a chance of rain and snow showers before 10 p.m., then a chance of snow showers between 10 p.m. and midnight. Some thunder is also possible.

It will be cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 31. Blustery conditions will exist with a north northeast wind between 6 to 16 mph, becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%, with little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 57. North wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 68. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 73.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 73. Breezy.
