‘Adventure cat’ in climber’s backpack rescued on Boulder Flatirons
The Rocky Mountain Rescue Group responded to an odd call for help in recent days, saving rock climbers and a cat from their climb up the First Flatiron in Boulder.
The call for help was made after the climbers got stuck in the dark on the well-known formation.
Per a report from KDVR on the incident, one of the two climbers had his ‘adventure cat’ named Link in a backpack while the two went up the formation. After the climb took longer than expected, they were uncomfortable moving without daylight.
Rocky Mountain Rescue Group says that once at the scene, they got the climbers headlamps and everyone was safely lowered to the ground.
This situation provides a good example of when it’s probably best to leave a pet at home. Ultimately, the pair of climbers did the right thing by calling for help instead of pushing forward. It’s always best to call for help before a situation gets worse.
