Man dies in hospital following East Denver shooting; police search for suspect

Editor’s note: the Officer of the Medical Examiner identified the victim as 23-year-old Elijajuan Guyton. The cause of death was ruled as a gunshot wound.
A man has died in the hospital after being wounded in a shooting Saturday night in east Denver.
Denver police responded to a shooting near 2100 N. High St. at 6:40 p.m., police said.
The area is just west of City Park.
A caller reported they heard a gunshot and a person was down, police said.
Police said they found a man in critical condition and transported him to a hospital, where he later died.
The investigation was upgraded to a homicide, police said, adding that no suspect is in custody.
