‘Hidden gem’ Colorado spot set to be featured on ‘America’s Best Restaurants’ show

A hidden gem Colorado restaurant is set to be featured on the popular social media show ‘America’s Best Restaurants – and given that it’s not located in the Denver metro area or Fort Collins or Colorado Springs or a touristy mountain town, it’s probably a restaurant most have missed.

Found on the far eastern side of Pueblo, Musso’s Restaurant is a one-of-a-kind spot that specializes in Sicilian sausage, green chile, and sandwiches. It’s family-owned and family-operated, first opened in 1991 when Carl Musso hoped to share a sausage recipe passed down from ancestors out of Luccia, Sicily.

Today, the menu has since expanded to include a Colorado twist on classic favorites. Two of the most popular items on the menu are the Sicilian Slopper – an open-face sausage sandwich smothered in homemade green chile that’s inspired by Colorado’s iconic slopper burger – and the Fuggedaboudit sausage sandwich, which comes with three types of cheese and Musso Farms home-grown roasted chiles. Other items on the menu include a full suite of breakfast options, a variety of roast beef sandwiches, burgers, Mexican dishes, chicken-fried steak, and more.

It’s also worth noting that the green chiles at Musso’s aren’t just any old green chiles – they’re from the family farm that’s been in operation since 1904. In other words, they’re some of the best chiles produced in the state.

KKTV reports that the restaurant will be featured on the America’s Best Restaurants show on May 2.

Musso’s currently holds a 4.1-star rating on Yelp and a 4.5-star rating on Google Reviews. Locals and regulars, alike, rave about the homemade Italian and the many other dishes that the spot serves up. Those looking to pay Musso’s a visit will find it at 35250 E. US Highway 50, Pueblo, CO 81006.

Musso’s will join 13 other Colorado restaurants featured by the show.
