Denver weather: Sunny skies, drying out return following wet weekend

Denver residents should experience a return to warm, mild conditions following a wet weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Monday is expected to be sunny with a high near 69 degrees, with light winds, the weather agency said.

“Drier and warmer conditions are expected,” the NWS said. “Snow showers will return to the northern mountains briefly starting late tonight, as a passing weather disturbance brushes the state. Most of the activity will be confined to the mountains of Jackson, Grand and Larimer counties and is expected to end early Tuesday morning.”

Overnight it should be partly cloudy with a low of about 46 degrees, officials said.

Here is the extended forecast from the National Weather Service:

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 73. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 7 to 15 mph becoming north in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph.

Wednesday: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 72. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 7 to 12 mph becoming north 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 56.

Friday: A slight chance of showers after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 69.
