The Rockies got the spark they needed in a multi-hit debut from Jordan Beck and used part of it to back Ryan Feltner’s career-long start before falling apart in the ninth.

Colorado froze the Marlins until it allowed five runs in the ninth inning to blow a five-run lead and fell 7-6 in the 10th. Dane Meyers singled into right field to drive in Bryan De La Cruz and walk off the Rockies.

Elehuris Montero’s home run in a five-run first inning included Beck’s first hit was nearly all the Rockies needed to get an eighth win.

What happened: The Rockies used an Elehuris Montero home run as part of their five-run first inning that held up until Miami’s five-run ninth sparked their walk-off win.

On the mound: Feltner threw into the ninth but finished with a career-high eight innings. Justin Lawrence allowed a pair of inherited runners to score as part of Feltner’s three allowed. Lawrence blew a save chance with two more allowed, and Jalen Beeks allowed a walk-off single in the 10th. 

At the plate: Montero hit a center field, three-run home run as the dagger of a five-run first inning. Jordan Beck singled in his first career at-bat and got another hit later on. Ryan McMahon drove in two runs with his three hits as part of the Rockies’ 4-for-8 day with runners in scoring position.
