18-year-old arrested in connection to child pornography in Arapahoe County

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of eight counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Investigators believe there may be more victims who have yet to speak.
John Farnsworth Van Der Bosch, 18, was arrested on Wednesday following an investigation that stemmed back to Feb. 6, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.
Investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) began looking into Van Der Bosch after reports of “harassing and extorting underage victims via Snapchat and text messages,” the sheriff’s office said.
Through the investigation, detectives found that Van Der Bosch was in possession of materials containing child sexual abuse, leading to his official arrest.
Van Der Bosch was arrested on suspicion of eight counts of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of criminal extortion, all felonies. He was booked into the Arapahoe County Detention Facility on $100,000 bond.
Investigators believe there may be more victims that have yet to come forward. The sheriff’s office asks anyone who was a victim of Van Der Bosch’s or has information on the case contact the office at 720-874-8477.
