Denver weather: Sunny before slight chance of T-storms Friday, gorgeous Memorial Day weekend

Weather around Denver entering the Memorial Day weekend will be very spring like, with sunny skies in the morning and afternoon clouds rolling in with the potential for thunderstorms and rain showers.
Denver residents can expect a 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Clouds will increasing throughout the day, with a high near 67. Southwest winds to blow between 5 to 8 mph, becoming east in the afternoon.
“Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon with some snow showers possible for the highest elevations overnight tonight,” the NWS said.
Tonight is forecast to have a 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m. It will be cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 48. Southeast winds to blow between 6 to 11 mph, becoming west southwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.
“Scattered thunderstorms are expected Saturday afternoon and evening, most numerous over the mountains and near the northern border,” the NWS said. “Snowfall of between 1 to 3 inches is expected at elevations above about 10,000 feet, but warm temperatures will limit any travel impacts over the passes.”
Sunday and Monday will be drier as a warming trend begins. The rest of the week will be warm, with a few afternoon and evening thunderstorms. The threat of severe weather is low.

Saturday: A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 74. West southwest wind 6 to 14 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph.
Sunday: A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 10 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.
Memorial Day: Sunny, with a high near 77.
Tuesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.
