Drew Gordon, older brother of Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, reportedly dies

Aaron Gordon’s offseason got off to a tragic start.

Gordon’s older brother, Drew, reportedly died in a car accident Thursday in Portland, according to multiple news reports. Drew Gordon was 33.

“The Denver Nuggets organization is devastated to learn about the tragic passing of Drew Gordon. Drew was far too young to leave this world, but his legacy will forever live on through his three beautiful children and all of his loved ones,” the Nuggets said in a team statement. “Our hearts are with Aaron and the Gordon family during this extremely difficult time.”

Drew Gordon played college basketball at UCLA and New Mexico before going undrafted in 2012. He started his professional career playing for Serbian club KK Partizan. After a couple of other stops abroad, Drew Gordon played in nine games for the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2014-15 season. He last played professionally in Japan before retiring last year.

Drew Gordon regularly attended Nuggets games to support Aaron during the last couple of seasons.
