Woman and juvenile bystanders shot outside Aurora convenience store

Both victims are in stable condition following the incident Friday morning

Two bystanders, including a child, were injured during a shooting between two suspects outside of an Aurora convenience store Friday morning.

The Aurora Police Department responded to a shooting report outside of the 7-Eleven at 15296 E. Hampden Avenue around 2 a.m. Friday, according to a press release from the department. The woman and the juvenile male were found shot outside of the store.

Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital. The woman’s injuries were considered serious, and she is expected to recover. The juvenile’s injuries were considered life-threatening, and he is currently stable, the department said.

Preliminary investigations found that two suspects confronted each other inside of the store and moved outside. The confrontation eventually escalated to an exchange of gun fire, injuring the two victims.

The two victims were not involved with the two suspects, the department said.

No arrests have been made as of Friday afternoon and no information about the suspects is immediately available, the police said.
