Commerce City splash pad to close June 17

Just when things were heating up, one of Commerce City’s favorite spots to cool off will temporarily close on Monday, June 17 due to a “significant water leak.”

A city statement said staff is actively working with landscape contractors to install a barrier seal at the Pioneer Park splash pad, located at 5950 Holly St., to prevent further water leakage.

Officials estimate repairs to be completed by the end of the month, with the pad reopening after successful testing.

For other ways to beat the heat, Commerce City Parks, Recreation and Golf has two indoor pools at the Bison Ridge and Eagle Pointe rec centers, plus, the Paradice Island pool and lazy river.
