Denver is forecast for hot temps Thursday, just in time for the first day of summer, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. 

There’s a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 89 degrees. Winds from the southwest are anticipated to roll through the area between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts potentially reaching upwards of 21 mph. 

Looking ahead to Thursday night, a 30% chance for showers and thunderstorms will persist through midnight. Expect mostly cloudy skies and a low of 63 degrees.

A slight chance of afternoon showers will continue Friday, before drying out ahead of the weekend. Temps are anticipated to return to the 90s through Monday.
