Colorado’s ‘most popular’ Airbnb is literally built into a cliff wall of a remote canyon
Popular vacation rental company Airbnb recently published data related to their most popular homes around the country on a state-by-state basis.
In order to make their determination, they looked at which homes got ‘wishlisted’ – or ‘saved for later’ – the most by users of their service.
In Colorado, the ‘most wishlisted’ spot was ‘Private Sage Canyon Cliff House,’ which is located near Mesa Verde.
Dubbed a ‘Guest Favorite’ by Airbnb with a 4.98 of five star-rating, the home is located in southwest Colorado on the flank of Sleeping Ute Mountain in the historic McElmo Canyon, about 40 minutes from Mesa Verde and about 20 minutes from the town of Cortez.
According to the Airbnb description of the spot, the home is “built right into the red rock cliff wall of a private red rock canyon alcove with comfortable amenities, internet, nearby petroglyphs, and sweeping views down canyon.” The stay also includes access to a secluded yard inside of another nearby rock alcove. Visitors are also told to expect to see wildlife on the property.
