A crash in north Colorado Springs shut down a major roadway Friday night.

Dublin Boulevard was closed in both directions around 9 p.m. while personnel with the Colorado Springs police and fire departments responded to the accident.

The police department announced an update at 9:37 p.m. that Dublin eastbound is closed at Union and Dublin westbound is closed at Flintridge.

The crash  was reported on Dublin Boulevard between Flintridge Drive and North Union Boulevard.

The fire department reported on social media that multiple people were transported to a local hospital after being extricated from the wreckage.

Drivers are  encouraged to avoid the area.
