Denver weather: Scattered showers Monday ahead of glorious looking Independence Day

July starts out with possible fireworks from Mother Nature on Monday, but by Independence Day on Thursday, storms clear out and sunny weather marches in for people fireworks around the Mile High City.
Denver residents can expect a slight chance of showers between 10 a.m. and noon, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
It’ll be mostly cloudy with a high near 89 and west winds blowing between 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
“Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected today,” the NWS said. “Stronger storms today could produce hail and gusty winds, mainly across far northeastern Colorado.”
Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 62 and south southwest winds to blow between 5 to 9 mph, becoming west northwest in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Tuesday: A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Light and variable wind becoming north northeast 5 to 7 mph in the morning.
Wednesday: A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Sunny, with a high near 91. Light and variable wind becoming west southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.
Independence Day: Sunny, with a high near 86.
Friday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Sunny, with a high near 83.
