The Boulder County Coroner has identified a woman whose body was found “wrapped in multiple layers” and stashed on a bike trailer as 19-year-old Zaria Hardee. Jeff Martin said that though the autopsy is complete, Hardee’s cause of death will not be announced pending the Boulder police investigation.

Investigators believe that the woman was homeless, but they have not released any other information — although, according to a press release, they have identified her after interviewing multiple witnesses.

The body was found just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, in the 1800 block of Goss Street after people called to report that the bike trailer had been in the location for several days. Coroner Martin said that he did not yet know the approximate time that Hardee died.

The location is near an apartment complex.

The suspicious death is unusual. The city of Boulder usually averages only one or two homicides per year.
