Newcastle University, a prestigious Russell Group founding member, has cemented its position as a Top 30 institution for job prospects after graduation.

Earning top rankings in Graduate Outcomes by The Sunday Times, The Guardian, and The Complete University Guide, Newcastle graduates are in high demand globally, as votes come in from not just the United Kingdom, but from employers worldwide.

Employer satisfaction, a key indicator of graduate outcomes, is assessed by employers worldwide, from China to the United States. In 2023, QS awarded 5 stars to the university for student employability. We are still awaiting the university’s performance results for this year.

According to the latest survey, almost 95% of Newcastle graduates entered employment or further study within 15 months of graduation. Many also go on to start their own businesses.

Take Dr. Andrew Jenkins, for example, a Newcastle University graduate who founded Kinewell Energy, supported by the University’s START-UP team. Just a decade since its founding, Kinewell Energy is already a world leader in offshore wind solutions, driving innovation in wind farms through cable optimization. Recently, Jenkins’ venture won the prestigious Energy Innovation of the Year award at VentureFest North East in recognition of its innovative technology for offshore wind cable layout design.

Newcastle University is renowned for breeding talent across various industries. Sally Grey, a creative writing graduate at Newcastle, authored her first novel at just 25 during the lockdown, drawing inspiration from Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel “The Handmaid’s Tale”. If you’re not familiar with the higher education industry, it might seem like graduate outcomes are based on one indicator only: How many students landed a job after graduation?
