Day 8 of Broncos training camp: 11-on-11 focus to close out week
Parker Seibold, The Gazette
ENGLEWOOD — A behind-the-scenes look at Broncos training camp practice Saturday with observations and analysis from The Denver Gazette.
Play of the day
Facing third-and-goal in the red zone, in an 11-on-11 period, rookie quarterback Bo Nix rolled out of the pocket to escape pressure and hit wide receiver Courtland Sutton with a touchdown dart.
QB watch
All three quarterbacks rotated during a scrimmage-style practice with the majority being full team periods. Jarrett Stidham and Nix took the majority of first-team reps with Zach Wilson operating mostly the third-team offense. All three QBs had strong moments.
Stock rising
RB Audric Estime. The rookie running back showed impressive physicality on several runs, including a mean stiff arm to shed outside linebacker Thomas Incoom.
Stock falling
Offensive line. Denver’s pass rush was especially effective in getting to the quarterback Saturday throughout 11-on-11 play. The o-line has more to prove.
Attendance check
Players in attendance Saturday that did not practice included defensive end Zach Allen, outside linebacker Nik Bonitto and outside linebacker Ronnie Perkins.
Injury report
Cornerback Levi Wallace left practice with a hamstring injury, coach Sean Payton said.
What’s next
Training camp is paused on Sunday and resumes with practice 10 a.m. Monday at Broncos Park.
