2 wounded in shooting in east Colorado Springs early Sunday
Two people were injured early Sunday following a shooting in east Colorado Springs, according to law enforcement officials.
Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of North Chelton Road, just west of the Citadel Mall, following a call about a shooting. At the scene, they found a man with gunshot wounds to the chest and leg in the front yard of a home, police said.
Witnesses told police that a female, wounded in the same incident, had been taken to a hospital “by private automobile.” Officers learned that the female victim had been shot in the right forearm.
Both victims are expected to survive their injuries, police said. No suspect information was given, and no arrests were announced.
