Colorado’s Valarie Allman wins gold medal in discus throw at Paris Olympics

Coloradan Valarie Allman has done it again and won herself a gold medal at the Paris Olympics on Monday in women’s discus.
Allman, 29, is now a two-time Olympic gold medalist in the event, having won gold in the event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Her winning throw of 69.50 meters beat out throwers from China and Croatia by nearly two meters.
Both China’s Feng Bin and Croatia’s Sandra Perkovic threw the discus 67.51 meters, but Feng took home the silver medal in the tie breaker.
Allman attended Silver Creek High School in Longmont. She was co-valedictorian in high school with a weighted GPA of 4.4.
