Andrew Wilson named Colorado Avalanche assistant general manager

The Colorado Avalanche announced Friday that Andrew Wilson has been named assistant general manager.
Wilson will work closely with general manager Chris MacFarland on all hockey-related matters, including salary cap management, contract negotiations and CBA administration.
Wilson, 41, spent the last 18 years working at the National Hockey League. For the past three years he was vice president of central registry.
In that role, he worked with all 32 NHL teams regarding collective bargaining agreement compliance and salary cap management. He also handled trade calls and contract affairs.
Wilson will work in the front office with MacFarland, president of hockey operations Joe Sakic and assistant general manager Kevin McDonald.
