Popular Colorado attraction dubbed 3rd-best ‘make-out spot’ in US
Lovers, rejoice! One of the top spots for makin’ out is reportedly in Colorado.
DatingNews.com recently hosted a survey asking 3,000 Americans what attractions are most conducive to smooching significant others – and three places in Colorado ended up on the ranking of their top 150 spots nationwide.
Taking first place was Hana Highway in Maui, Hawaii, but a certain iconic route near Colorado Springs wasn’t far behind.
A 19-mile road to the top of America’s Mountain, the Pikes Peak Highway ended up ranking in 3rd place overall. DatingNews attributed this to views that inspire romance, but the chilly temperatures encouraging cuddles might help, too. Smoochers on this highway should make sure their hearts aren’t racing too fast though, as the high elevation at a summit of 14,115 feet above sea level is sure to have visitors feeling a bit lightheaded already.
While most people head to this road to drive to the top of its namesake mountain, picnics, hiking, and fishing opportunities in the area can add even more to a date at the destination.
Two other Colorado spots included among the top 150 ‘make-out spots’ nationwide were the iconic Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, ranking 50th, and Rocky Mountain National Park’s Trail Ridge Road, ranking 103rd.
