Denver police investigating fatal shooting

1 man died Friday evening

Denver police are investigating a shooting that ended with one man dead.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of West Eighth Avenue and Kalamath Street — in the Lincoln Park neighborhood — around 9 p.m. Friday, according to a social media post by the Denver Police Department.

Upon arrival, one man was found injured and was taken to a nearby hospital. At the time, the extent of his injuries were unknown.

In a subsequent post around 11:30 p.m., the department noted that the man had passed away at the hospital, elevating the incident to a homicide investigation.

As of Saturday morning, no suspect information has been released by the department. Investigations are still ongoing.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner after investigations.
