Denver weather: Cloudy throughout the day Monday as a drying trend begins
Clouds streaming in on a southwest flow will keep the temperatures down a little while limited moisture will keep rain and thunderstorms to a minimum on Monday around Denver.
Denver residents can expect a slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
It’ll be partly sunny, with a high near 88. Light south winds to blow, becoming south southwest between 5 to 9 mph in the morning, are forecast. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
“Isolated showers and storms will form mainly this afternoon,” the NWS said. “Storms will be capable of producing wind gusts up to 45 mph and brief heavy rain. Across the far northeast corner near the Nebraska border, a severe storm or two is possible with wind gusts up to 60 mph and hail.”
Tonight, it’ll be partly cloudy, with a low around 59. West southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 87. Light and variable wind becoming southeast 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 90. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 81.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 88.
