Where good news shines

Paddy Turner is on the national radar — again.

The Colorado State punter was named to the watch list for the Ray Guy Award Wednesday, the second straight season he’s been in the running for the nation’s top punter award.

Turner last season had 51 punts for 2,212 yards, an average of 43.4 per kick. That placed fourth among Mountain West punters. Turner, a team captain, landed 18 punts inside the 20-yard line during his redshirt senior campaign.

Through a donation program that invited fans to match his own $20 donation for every punt inside the 20, Turner helped raise over $6,500 for the Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County across last season.

In Week 1, Turner had seven punts in a loss at No. 4 Texas, including a pair that traveled more than 50 years. He pinned two inside the 20.
