Denver weather: Temperatures bouncing around 90 on Monday
The first full weekend of September brought some rain and thunderstorms around metro Denver, but high pressure will build back over Colorado for a couple of days and bring temperatures back into the 90s to start the week.
Denver residents can expect a 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. It’ll be sunny with a high near 90 and light and variable winds to blow, becoming southeast 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
“Scattered higher based showers along with isolated thunderstorms will occur this afternoon into the early evening hours, especially over the higher terrain,” the NWS said. “A few winds gusts up to 50 mph will be possible but rainfall will be light.”
For Monday night, a 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight is forecast. It’ll be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 60. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south southwest after midnight.

Tuesday: A 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. South southwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.
Wednesday: A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. West southwest wind 3 to 6 mph. Winds could gust as high as 17 mph.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 90.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 85.
