Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter named Big 12 defensive player of the week
It marks Hunter's second conference weekly award as a Buff
It had to be Travis Hunter.
Colorado’s two-way star is the first Buffaloes player to earn a weekly honor from the Big 12 in the program’s first year back in the conference.
Hunter was named Big 12 defensive player of the week Monday for his performance in Colorado’s 28-9 win over Colorado State Saturday in the Rocky Mountain Showdown.
The junior cornerback/wide receiver had five tackles, an interception and a pass breakup on defense, while also racking up 13 catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns on offense.
It marks Hunter’s second conference weekly award as a Buff. He earned Pac-12 defensive player of the week for his performance in Week 1 last season against TCU.
The Buffs host Baylor at 6 p.m. Saturday on FOX in the program’s first game in the Big 12 since 2010. The kickoff time for the Sept. 28 game at Central Florida was not announced Monday and instead will be decided late Saturday.
