Where good news shines

Fresh off a home win, the University of Denver soccer program stayed No. 1.

The Pioneers were the top-ranked team when the Top Drawer Soccer rankings were released Monday. Denver is 5-0-4 after a 2-1 win over Seattle University on Sunday.

Sam Bassett scored the game-winning goal in the second half to give the Pioneers their 100th win at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.

Denver has a week off before hosting Oral Roberts at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2.
