Denver weather: Cooler temperatures Friday but heat builds back in during the weekend

A cooler day Friday awaits residents around metro Denver after Thursday’s record high of 93, with more sunshine, dry conditions but less wind.

It’ll be mostly sunny today, with a high near 84 and north northwest winds blowing around 7 mph, becoming east northeast in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Tonight we’ll see mostly clear skies, with a low around 56. East winds to blow around 6 mph, becoming south after midnight.

Saturday and Sunday warm back up again, closing in on 90 for highs each day, with the potential for another record high on Sunday.

No precipitation is in the forecast over the next week.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 88. Light and variable wind becoming southeast 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 90. South southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 85.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 81.
