Denver weather: Above-average highs persist Monday ahead of a cool front
Persistent above-average temperatures await Denver residents on Monday as high pressure stays in place over the Four Corners.
It will be mostly sunny, with a high near 85 today, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Light and variable winds to blow, becoming north northeast 6 to 11 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.
“A cold front will pass across the plains this morning,” the NWS said. “Northerly winds will gust as high as 35 mph behind the front, and temperatures will be mostly in the 70s. The winds and dry air will produce elevated fire weather conditions.”
Tonight it’ll be mostly clear, with a low around 44. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light east southeast in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.
