Denver a leader in U.S. ‘remote work revolution,’ according to data analysis
It’s no secret that many employees and companies have embraced the concept of remote work over the past few years, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, Coworking Mag recently published a data analysis looking at how prominent remote work is in metro areas around the U.S.
Coworking Mag used the Census Bureau’s most recent data on the evolution of work-from-home in 109 U.S. metro areas that included data on 500,000 people to determine which places had experienced the most significant changes over the last 10 years. Researchers also looked at the metropolitan statistical areas with the highest shares of remote workers, and those still seeing increases in the number of teleworkers.
The study found that Denver had the third-highest percentage of teleworkers in 2023. Data showed that the Mile High City has a 22.3% share of remote workers.
According to Coworking Mag, Denver is boosted by a “strong economy, strategic location, scenic surroundings, and a plethora of engaging activities.” It’s appealing nature helps the city attract people for work, many of which end up in remote-friendly fields, including broadcast and telecommunications, technology, and financial services.
As well as opportunities for remote work, Denver has many places to “work from home.” The city is home to plenty of coffee shops and bookstores, like Barnes and Noble and Tattered Cover Book Store, with cafes or nooks to work. Denver also offers a variety of coworking spaces that provide remote workers with everything they need in a workspace.
