Trick-or-treating, dog races, pumpkin patch to bring Halloween fun to Arapahoe County
The Treat Street event runs from Oct. 19-20 at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds, aka 'Scaregrounds.'
Adults and children alike can enjoy a weekend of Halloween fun in Arapahoe County later this month at the fifth annual Treat Street event.
On Oct. 19 and 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Arapahoe County Fairgrounds, 25690 E. Quincy Ave., will become the county “Scaregrounds,” where there will be a variety of activities for people of all ages.
Tickets are available for pre-sale online for $10 and at the event in-person for $12. Children under 2-years-old are free.
Attendees are urged to come in costume and bring a candy container to trick-or-treat at over 40 booths run by local businesses.
In addition to trick-or-treating, those in attendance can get “lost” in a kid-friendly haunted maze, ride in a carriage, pet animals at the animal farm, get artsy at a face painting station, enjoy live entertainment, paint pumpkins and compete in a costume contest.
There will also be a variety of local food trucks and an adult beer garden for those 21 years old and older.
To top it all off, there will be “Howl-O-Ween” dog races both days starting at 2 p.m. Saturday’s race is open to all breeds 30 pounds or smaller. Sunday’s race is open to all Dachshunds. Winning dogs and their owners get prizes.
The costume contest starts at 3 p.m. both days and offers prizes for best adult costume, best duo costume, best group costume and best kid’s costume.
