2 killed in crash on Highway 34 near Greeley
The crash happened Friday morning near Highway 256. Westbound lanes were expected to be closed for several hours.
Editor’s note: The Weld County Coroner’s Office identified the two victims as 40-year-old Leo Villagrana Perales and 29-year-old Kellyng Mauricio Figuerdo-Gonzalez, both from Greeley.
GREELEY, Colo. — Two people were killed in a serious crash that resulted in a full closure of the westbound lanes of Highway 34 near Greeley.
According to Greeley Police, the crash happened around 6:45 a.m. on Highway 34 near Highway 256. Three people were ejected from the vehicle involved.
Two were pronounced dead and the third was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
All westbound lanes of Highway 34 are expected to remain closed as they investigate the crash and work to clear the roadway.
Eastbound lanes are open, but may also experience delays due to traffic slowing around responders.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
