Pro-Palestinian protesters hold up traffic in Cherry Creek

The protests began around 2 p.m. Saturday, according to multiple social media users

A collection of pro-Palestinian protestors began chanting and holding up both Palestinian and Lebanese flags outside of the Cherry Creek Shopping Center Saturday afternoon.

The protests began around 2 p.m. at the intersection of 1st Avenue and University Boulevard, eventually moving into the intersection and stopping traffic.

Multiple users on X noted that it took around 30-to-40 minutes to get around the area due to the police presence and protestors in the middle of the roads.

Colorado State Patrol (CSP) officers responded to the protest to assist the Denver Police Department, according to a spokesperson from CSP.

As of around 4 p.m., 1st Avenue has reopened for traffic.

Denver police said two people were arrested on investigation of criminal mischief.
