Motorcyclist dead in southwest Denver crash

Authorities investigate the fatal motorcycle crash in the area of Federal Boulevard and Harvard Avenue.

The Denver Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that left a motorcyclist dead on Saturday evening.

Police said the crash happened at 6:57 p.m. near the intersection of Federal Boulevard and Harvard Avenue.

The crash involved a motorcycle and another motorist near Denver’s Harvey Park neighborhood, according to police.

Authorities say the driver is being charged with careless driving resulting in death for failing to yield on a left turn.

The motorcyclist was hit and pronounced dead on-scene, police said.

The southwest Denver crash comes amid a rise in motorcycle deaths throughout Colorado.

Police said the crash remains under investigation.
